Symfony Week 1000

february 2026
Congrats for Symfony weekly blogpost #1000

Lets take some steps back.

I remember reading Symfony weekly blogposts when the count was in the #1xx. Seeing #1000 blog posts is absolutely incredible. Over 2 decades.

Time flies.

It takes time to make great things. A lot of time. And even more time to make things that last.
I learned a lot with such posts, and also was proud sometimes seeing my contributions to the framework and the documentation shared (top 20 doc contributor).
I am glad being in that ecosystem, which is always sharing and evolving, compounding efforts, collectivitely challenging the state of the art and advancing forward the whole sphere.

Life is short.

I use PHP/Symfony since mid/end ~2000. Those tools let me do the job well and fast.
And the more I grow, the more I go to simple things in life. On various subjects.

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication“

Simple does not mean easy. And easy does not mean simple.
To me, I find those tools simple to use, to craft, to master. They click in my head. And with the entire ecosystem around it, it helps me stay productive and happy using/working with them, while acheiving the desired results.

In fine, they allow me to fully enjoy other things. To have my mind focus elsewhere. To take the time to explore more.

Thank you.

It costs nothing to say thank you.

Well, this is a small text written on the fly to kind of celebrate this Symfony blog serie. And more broadly, the full ecosystem around it. A small and humble tribute,

Bravo to Javier for the dedication and accomplishing this serie in the long run, this let people around learn. As well as the documentation. 👏🏻
A thought for Ryan. His words on my first doc PR were like a little spark to me to go more into Symfony. 🕊️
And my son who completely transformed the way I see time and life. ❤️
